Fourth Trimester Support

We hear a lot about how to stay health during the three trimesters of pregnancy, but many women know little about how to support themselves during the ‘fourth trimester’ (following birth), which can bring with it physical discomfort, anxiety, sleep disturbances, exhaustion and feeling generally overwhelmed. With so many mums putting all their energy into ensuring they support a healthy pregnancy, there needs to be more attention given to the first three months post birth.

The postpartum period (30-40 days after birth) should be a time for new mothers to rest, recover and restore their bodies and bond with their babies, however it is often a very vulnerable time for not only women but also their families, who can experience major emotional, physiological, and social changes after welcoming baby. It is so important that they take care of themselves so they can be the best source of nourishment and support for their babies, throughout this crucial developmental phase and for the years ahead.

At The Holland Clinic we offer careful, monitored support and guidance to women, babies and families during the 4th trimester, to ensure we have a happy, settled, and calm mum and bubs.
