–––
I DON’T LIVE NEARBY OR IN MELBOURNE, CAN I STILL MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
Yes, The Holland Clinic welcomes remote appointments. We have treated patients from all over Australia and the world. We offer Telehealth consultations via Skype or phone. You can opt for a Telehealth appointment when making your booking.
–––
WHAT DO YOU SPECIALISE IN?
Dr Holland is passionate about helping women aged between 35 and 55 who are in perimenopause (but may not realise it!).
–––
I’M NOT SURE WHAT I NEED – WHERE DO I START?
Dr Holland often works with women who have spent years struggling with long-standing health challenges. Many patients state that traditional Western treatment hasn’t helped and that they have “tried everything”. They feel unheard and unseen and are quite often told by their primary health care practitioners that there is no evidence for their symptoms or that nothing is physically wrong. When they finally get to our clinic, they begin to understand the benefit of a holistic approach, where all aspects that negatively impact their health are examined.
The best place to start your health journey is with an Initial Consultation at The Holland Clinic.
–––
HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Appointments for Initial Consultations and Functional Test Reviews must be booked online. All other appointment types can be booked via email hello@thehollandclinic.com. If you have questions prior to booking an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us by calling the clinic on (03) 9388 8950.

CAN I CLAIM APPOINTMENTS ON MY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE?
The acupuncture component of our treatment programmes, as well as prescribed medicaments, may be claimed on your Private Health insurance. You will need to confirm with your provider whether these items are covered by your policy. We can provide you with a claim form on request.
–––
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
We ask that you please bring all your current medications and supplements and copies of any relevant health information such as recent blood test results and/or x-rays and scans to your initial consultation.
Also please ensure that you have completed and returned all the various questionnaires and intake forms that will be given to you prior to your first visit. These documents are designed to help you record your health and wellbeing history and highlight any concerns you may have. They are crucial for the diagnosis of conditions and in the development of an individualised treatment plan.
–––
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT AN APPOINTMENT?
We will warmly welcome you into our healing space, and you will expect to feel supported, comfortable and at ease. Your initial consultation can take up to 90 minutes, while a Functional Test review can take up to 60 minutes, and a treatment session can take up to 45 minutes. We have created documents that describe in detail what to expect at both your initial consultation and at a treatment session. Both can be read by clicking the live text links.
–––
WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN’T MAKE MY APPOINTMENT?
The Holland Clinic is committed to providing an impeccable level of care for you and all our patients. It is a busy clinic and on most days, sessions are run back-to-back. We therefore request that you attend your appointment on time. There is a strict policy in place in relation to missed appointments and late cancellations. If you do not give 24 hours’ notice when rescheduling or cancelling, you will forfeit that appointment and will be required to pay the full consultation fee. Please assist by letting us know as soon as possible when needing to cancel or change an appointment. Further, if you arrive late to an appointment, you may receive a shorter consultation in an effort not to inconvenience other clients. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for further details.
–––
HOW MUCH DOES AN INITIAL CONSULTATION COST?
Your initial consultation with Dr Holland is extremely detailed and involved and will cost $395. In order to secure your appointment this fee is payable at the time of booking. As the demand for appointment times is high, this fee is non-refundable. However you do have one opportunity to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, providing at least 24 hours’ notice.
–––
WHAT WILL I NEED AFTER MY INITIAL CONSULTATION AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The Holland Clinic offers a series of treatment sessions that are individually tailored to your needs and desired outcomes. The cost of treatment is variable and depends on the complexity of symptoms and the level of care the patient requires in order to achieve their health outcomes. Dr Holland will discuss treatment options and their associated costs in detail with you following your Initial Consultation. And please be assured that by attending an initial consultation, you are not obliged to undertake any further treatment… but we’re confident that you will want to.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU FOR A DUTCH TEST
An Initial Consultation with Dr Holland is required before a DUTCH test can be ordered. Information gathered during an Initial Consultation provides important information regarding your overall health and wellbeing. It will capture your full medical history and related health symptoms, including underlying conditions and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to the results of the DUTCH test. Dr Holland interprets the results of the DUTCH test with this background information in mind and is then able to devise the best individualised treatment possible.
Following the Initial Consultation, Dr Holland will order your DUTCH test. DUTCH tests are only processed through the Great Plains Laboratory in the US. To obtain a DUTCH test in Australia, a registered practitioner such as Dr Holland can order a test for you through the only company the distributes the DUTCH test in Australia: RN Labs.
After the test is ordered, RN Labs will invoice you directly and request postal details, and the test will be delivered to you following payment (delivery can take up to 5 business days, depending on location).
You can complete the DUTCH test at home, following instructions provided within the kit and those specified by Dr Holland. You then post the swabs back to the lab and Dr Holland is notified once the test results are ready (which can take up to 4 weeks). The Holland Clinic staff will then contact you to arrange a Functional Test Review appointment with Dr Holland to go through the results.
Initial Consultations cost $395 and can be completed via Telehealth or in person at The Holland Clinic. Appointments can be booked online.
The retail price for the “DUTCH Complete” test is $385.00 and is paid directly to RN Labs.
A DUTCH Test Review appointment will cost $495 and takes approximately 60 minutes (and includes 2 hours of analysis and preparation by Dr Holland). Results consist of 19 pages of technical data specific to you. The appointment will also include a treatment action plan and individualised prescription. Functional Test Review appointments can also be booked online.

HOW MANY FUNCTIONAL TESTS WILL I NEED?
If you are in perimenopause, it is common to undergo at least one Functional Test during your treatment at The Holland Clinic. For ongoing treatment, some patients may need two tests within a 24-month period.
–––
I HAVE FUNCTIONAL TEST RESULTS (IE DUTCH, BLOOD TEST, STOOL TESTS ETC) THAT WERE CARRIED OUT SOME TIME AGO. SHOULD I BOOK AN INITIAL CONSULTATION OR A FUNCTIONAL TEST REVIEW?
If you have never attended The Holland Clinic or if your last appointment was over 12 months ago, we advise that you start your journey with an Initial Consultation. This is the best method of capturing all your symptoms and concerns and provides a full picture of your current health.
Further, your body may have changed since the Functional Test was completed. A more up-to-date test would be beneficial. Also, if the test was completed elsewhere, it may not have been completed under optimal circumstances. For example, Dr Holland provides very specific instructions to her patients regarding when to complete the DUTCH test during their menstrual cycle, to obtain the best, most meaningful results.

I NEED MORE HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS BUT I DON’T HAVE TIME TO COME INTO THE CLINIC
The Holland Clinic provides current patients with an Express Post service for supplements and herbal formula. Items can be sent to you if you don’t have time to come into the clinic. Please email the clinic to order your supplements.
–––
CAN I PURCHASE MY PRESCRIBED SUPPLEMENTS ELSEWHERE?
The dispensary at The Holland Clinic has been refined over the course of 20 years and we only stock quality supplements. Dr Holland is not sponsored by any company; instead she has hand-selected the supplements based on her extensive experience and results from comprehensive scientific research. The dispensary offers a convenient option to our patients however you are able to purchase your prescribed supplements from anywhere as long as you locate the exact same item. Do not purchase supplements from a supermarket or pharmacy as these products often do not contain the required therapeutic dosage. The supplements we prescribe are practitioner-only supplements that are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Also, we encourage you to avoid buying products you believe to be “similar” as often the contents are not the same as what we prescribe. You will be prescribed supplements with a precision-based medicine approach in mind and they will contribute to obtaining the health outcomes you desire.
–––
HOW LONG WILL MY PRESCRIPTION LAST ME?
Supplementation forms a core part of your treatment at The Holland Clinic. Your prescription will last the length of your treatment and will be refined and updated based on your progress. You will receive sufficient supplementation to cover the time between appointments. It is imperative that you take your supplements as prescribed in order to obtain the clinical outcomes you desire.

MY “WOMEN’S PUMP CREAM” IS NOT WORKING
On the bottom of the bottle is a plastic disc that is removable. You may need to locate the lip of the disc by sliding your fingers down the side of the bottle. Pull down to remove the disc, using pliers on the inside edge if required.
After the disc is removed, look inside the pump where you’ll find another plastic disc which holds the cream in. Gently push up on both sides of the disc, avoiding the middle. This action releases the air pocket and the cream should start coming out of the dispenser, as per normal. Replace the plastic disc on the bottom of the bottle.
–––
I HAVE A REGULAR GP, SHOULD I STOP SEEING THEM?
No, we encourage you to continue seeing your GP, alongside your treatment at The Holland Clinic. Dr Holland believes in an allied approach to health care, and hopes for all the primary health care providers to work together to best support the needs of their patients.

CAN I GET PHARMACEUTICALS FROM DR HOLLAND?
Dr Holland is NOT a GP and does not prescribe pharmaceutical medication.
–––
I AM ONLY WANTING ACUPUNCTURE, IS THAT OK?

–––
DO YOU HAVE AN INSTAGRAM OR FACEBOOK PAGE?
